The heavyweight
After 8 months of development and construction, one of the largest hard coating systems in the world to date – the PVT ”xxL6.5“ – was put into operation in 2016.
Key facts of the system:
- total height of the system: 4.200 mm
- coating chamber for parts with a coating height of up to 3.000 mm
- adesigned for substrates with a diameter of up to 450 mm
- designed for substrates with a weight of up to 3.000 kg
This system went under operation in combination with a single chamber cleaning system at the client „EST TOOL Co., Ltd.“ (PR China). The hard coating system “xxL6.5“ allows, among other things, the coating of broaching tools with a diameter of up to 450 mm, a length of up to 3,000 mm and a weight of up to 3,000 kg.
The user can – depending on the requirements – deposit a wide variety of layers, for example, TiN, TiCN, AlTiN, AlCrN, AlCrTiSiN and others.
Our customer reports with satisfaction that thanks to the in-house coating facility he was able to increase his sales significantly and gain market share. PVT will continue to support this business partner closely.
